Jordan Webster

Welcome Ralston Music Students and Parents!

My name is Jordan Webster and I am one of two full-time music teachers at Ralston. This year I will teach the following courses:

  • Chamber Orchestra (7th/8th grade strings, open by audition only)
  • Symphonic Band (7th/8th grade winds, brass and percussion)
  • 6th Grade Band
  • 6th Grade Orchestra

In addition, I will be assisting my colleague, Mr. Peter Thielen, as his co-teacher in Advanced Orchestra and Honors Band.

About Me

I have been teaching music for 12 years (this is my 10th at Ralston-- go Rams!). In addition to teaching music at Ralston, I coach an after-school youth orchestra, play in various community bands and orchestras, and I love to spend time in nature backpacking, hiking and camping. I am also beginning to learn bluegrass banjo (I love all kinds of music!).

Teaching Philosophy

I love teaching music. I believe that the music classroom is a unique place where all students can develop academically, musically, aesthetically, emotionally, and as positive change agents in the wider community. One of my primary goals is for students to experience the frequent joy of being exposed to and performing great music as part of a larger group.

Contacting Me

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me through my work email, work phone number or School Loop mail. I will do my best to reply to you in a timely manner during work hours. I do not provide my cell phone number as I prefer that it is reserved for personal use.

Learning to play an instrument is a team effort and I welcome any thoughts you might have.
