Bio/Contact Info

Hello students and parents! I'm very excited to get know you and work with you this school year.

A little bit about me: I was born in California, but moved several times while in middle and high school. Students, I'll share that story with you on the first day of school; parents, I'll share it with you on Back to School Night. My middle school experiences were very formative, and helped make me the person I am today; they certainly inform my teaching style and goals.

So ...I came back to California for college (UC Davis), and have lived here ever since. Currently I live in El Granada, which is an amazing place to live. When not in the classroom, I'm often hiking up Montara Mountain, through the Purisima Creek redwoods or strolling along one of the Coastside beaches.

I love teaching at Ralston! This will be my seventh year here, and my seventeenth credentialed year in the classroom. I am a voracious reader and enthusiastic writer, and I will do my best to share both passions daily. I am also super excited about teaching an elective for the first time. The class is called "Become a Chromebook Jedi" (see attached video and syllabus).

The best way to contact me is by email: either my district email ( or through Loop Mail.

You can also call: (650) 637-4880 extension 1611. Please realize that if you call during the work day, your call will automatically be routed to my voice mail.

I believe that communication between all stakeholders is crucial for student success.  I encourage my students to email me/Loop Mail me as well as their parents/guardians. My goal is to respond to all emails/voice messages within 48 hours (2 school days).

Please let me know how I can best support your student this year.
